Daniel O'Malley, Moab 240, Shay Mountain. I came across Daniel wrapped in a blanket, shivering like crazy while his crew attempted to bring him back. I spent about 20 minutes chatting, talking about past experiences suffering in my races all in an effort to motivate him...He had this wild hair, and I had set up some strobes...So after he was feeling way better and stoked about the race, I fired off a shot to highlight his inner fire...
Jared Vanderook...First time finisher, Hardrock. Of all the finish lines I have crossed, none compares to the feeling of seeing the rock as you round the corner on Snowden to 12th street and she comes into view...I remember the fighting the tears alone the last few miles of my first, trying to comprehend that I'm going to finish Hardrock...A feeling that never goes away, no matter how many times you're honored with entry.
